To behold a brother (or sister) who does great harm “with the eyes of Christ” means only that we see his light and his oneness with us, beyond the misery distortions of his nightmare. It is possible to stand as warriors in order to stop a brother - even unto the death of his body, if need be - yet still hold the Christ-light vision of his true Self. Now, this does not mean we condone or allow the harming of innocence. It is possible to behold even the vilest of criminals - those who harm children & the innocent - with the eyes of Christ. (From A Course in Miracles, Lesson #161) “I Would Behold You with the Eyes of Christ.” Note: I do not take full credit for this essay, as I feel it was - in part, at least - whispered in my ear from beloved Master Jesus. But first and most importantly, I’d like to share an excerpt from my morning journaling, that we may feel supported to look upon all which is unraveling through the eyes of love.
